Mist Sprayers

Mist sprayers come in different shapes, sizes and materials. They also vary in terms of discharge rate, depending on how strong, soft or dispersed the liquid needs to be when applied. These products are also referred to as finger sprayers in the cosmetic industry. They can be used for the easy application of perfumes, hair spray, face mist or other common cosmetics.

Uses
Mist sprayers can be used for cosmetics that do not need to be poured. They are convenient for those who want an even application without the mess. Cosmetic products such as facial toner, makeup remover or hair spray can be applied with the use of a finger sprayer. Smaller bottles can be stored in a bag or purse for use during trips. Product samples such as perfume can be conveniently packed in small pen bottles with an air-tight mist sprayer.

Crimp-on pump
The neck of the finger sprayer can be attached to almost any type of small bottle. Crimp-on necks are popular because they provide an air-tight fit to assure an even pump. Crimp-on pumps are usually made of plastic, brushed aluminum or a combination of the two. These types of pumps are ideal because they are leak proof, however they are non-refillable.

Screw-cap
Screw-cap tops are easy to attach to any type of bottle. These are the most common types of mist sprayer tops available in the market. These are usually made from PP plastic, with a stainless steel screw to allow an equal pump discharge. Screw-cap tops are easy to remove and clean. These mist sprayers can be refilled, however they are not leak-proof. The collar of these screw-cap tops are usually ribbed or smooth, but they can also be aluminum plated for a more elegant look.

Output
The output or discharge rate depends on the liquid viscosity of the product inside the bottle the mist sprayer is attached to. These usually vary from a softer rate of 0.12 cc to a stronger one of 0.4 cc. The softer discharge rate is ideal for smaller bottles with a thinner liquid. This type of pump is mostly used for spraying small amounts and finer output. Stronger discharge rates are ideal for hair spray or fast mist products. These are used for bigger bottles that require applications in large amounts.

Material
This cosmetic device can be made of PP plastic, aluminum or a combination of the two. Plastic finger sprayers are easier to assemble and cleaned. Aluminum sprayers are of better quality, they leak and spill proof, they look more elegant and they are not prone to jamming or clogging. However, sprayers made of this material cannot be refilled. The mist sprayers made of a combination of PP plastic also available. The finger pump is usually made of transparent plastic while the collar is a brushed aluminum sheet.

Tube
The plastic tube attached to the sprayer should fit the size and length of the bottle. These are usually made of LDPE and are connected to the neck of the mist sprayer. The diameter of the tube should match the thickness of the liquid inside the bottle.
